Expert Structural Drying in Savannah, GA

When water gets into your walls, floors, or ceilings, structural drying is the step that stops hidden moisture from causing long-term damage. Putts Plumbing handles structural drying for homeowners across Hellman Bluff who have dealt with burst pipes, appliance leaks, or storm-related water intrusion. Our technicians use moisture meters and thermal imaging to find water that is not visible to the eye. We then use air movers and dehumidifiers to pull moisture out of building materials at the structural level. Hellman Bluff includes a mix of older craftsman-style homes and bungalows. These building types often have wood framing and drywall that absorb water quickly and hold it deep inside wall cavities. Standard fans and household tools cannot reach that moisture. Professional equipment does. Once drying is complete, we document moisture readings so you have a clear record for your insurance claim. Call Putts Plumbing to schedule a structural drying assessment for your Hellman Bluff property.

Structural Drying FAQ

Common questions about structural drying in Savannah, GA.

Yes, visible drying does not mean the structure is dry. Moisture hides inside walls, under floors, and in wood framing long after surface water is gone.

We use moisture meters and thermal imaging to find all wet areas, then place air movers and dehumidifiers to pull moisture out of the building materials. We monitor readings until materials reach safe moisture levels.

In many cases, professional drying preserves floors and walls that would otherwise need full replacement. The sooner drying starts, the better the chance of saving the materials.

Yes, we record moisture readings before, during, and after the drying process. That written record gives your insurance adjuster the data they need.

Yes, household fans only move surface air and cannot reach moisture inside walls or under flooring. Professional structural drying uses commercial-grade equipment designed to dry building materials at depth.

Yes, older homes with wood-framed walls and original drywall absorb water more deeply and may need more targeted drying. Our technicians adjust the equipment placement based on what the moisture readings show.

I used Putts plumbing a few times and they are very consistent, courteous, and user friendly. This first trip was to fix a water line leak. Alex and Anthony came out, saw the problem and they fixed it plus made some adjustments to fit my new cabinet better. After my kitchen remodel was done, Bryce and Anthony came out to seal the sink and install all plumbing for sink, faucet, garbage disposal and dishwasher. They arrived on time, removed their dirty boots at the door, my previous plumbers never did that, and got to work. Very courteous. My tenants made a comment that they “really like these guys instead of Dyess” so Putts is my go to now. Highly recommend.

What an excellent company! The nicest service people ever and fairly priced and excellent work. The estimate exactly met my expectations and even came in on the cheap side. And their people are just a joy to work with. And they're quick! I booked them the same week and when I had a plumbing emergency, they came within a couple hours to install a new water heater. And then today they installed a dishwasher and the Plumbing and Electric were a bit dated and difficult. But Bryce handled it beautifully.

Company that came to assess and repair a 2nd floor master bathroom flood that leaked into the ceiling of the 1st floor referred me to Putts. The gentleman, Dom, that came not only came expeditiously but he was also very courteous and professional. He worked harmoniously alongside the team from the other company, did what needed to be done, and was out of the door in a flash. He removed the obstruction that caused the flooding. The spontaneous service call was fairly priced in my opinion. You need a plumber in Chatham? No if's, and's, or but's..call PUTTS!

The replacement of our water heater was completed within three hours. Floor covering was used to protect our rugs while removing old water heater and moving in new unit. Clean up was handled properly and water drained from old tank was directed outside via a long hose. Overall the process was handled well and I recommend Putts Plumbing. Installation cost was competitive

I was so pleased with Dom at Putts Plumbing! I asked my daughter for a plumber recommendation, and she sure delivered with the Putts number. I called Dom late on Monday and he was here first thing on Tuesday. Dom was knowledgeable and efficient - he quickly assessed the problem, set up a temporary fix while a permanent part was ordered, and the job was fully done on Thursday. I will only give Putts my business from now on!
